Going before their time
Article Abstract:
The activities of man, particularly those involving the destruction of natural habitats and the consumption of increasingly scarce resources, will place many species in danger of extinction in the 21st century. The majority of scientists believe that another mass extinction is set to take place. It is widely recognized that almost all extinctions are now directly or indirectly attributable to the impact of human activities. For this reason, the next mass extinction will be unique in the history of the world.
