Good can also rise from the ashes
Article Abstract:
There is concern that some United Kingdom directors of failed businesses can easily start new businesses. There have been calls for government intervention, but this could create more problems than it solves. Running a company involves risk, and companies may collapse through no fault of the directors, affecting those directors' finances. Former directors of a failed company may have problems in obtaining employment, and may have little option but to start a new business. Directors can learn from their experiences and their new companies can be successful.

True story behind a feathery farce
Article Abstract:
There were considerable problems associated with arranging a television debate between the leaders of the main political parties in the UK in the run-up to the May 1997 general election. The Conservative party was keen for a debate to take place, while the Labour party possibly did not want a debate at all. The Liberal Democrats took legal advice which indicated that they could not be excluded from direct participation in a face-to-face debate. It eventually proved impossible to arrange a debate in circumstances which were acceptable to all parties.

Ceremony turns to farce as wind steals Ghandi's 'forgotten' ashes
Article Abstract:
Considerable controversy has surrounded the recent ritual immersion of the ashes of Mahatma Gandhi in the River Ganges. Some observers have expressed doubts about the authenticity of the ashes, which have been in a bank vault for many years, and others have questioned the motives of Tushar Arun Gandhi, the great grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, in undertaking the ceremony. It is very unlikely that Tushar Arun Gandhi will be able to use his great grandfather's reputation to build popular support.
