Great hopes for smaller IT
Article Abstract:
A report conducted by Granville Davies, the investment bank, reveals that larger IT (information technology) companies have outperformed their smaller rivals in the stock market since 1996. Since 1996 the larger companies have increased their value fivefold and have therefore improved their returns. However, the smaller companies can now offer their investors much better value. They offered stronger returns and quadrupled in value. The smaller companies attract investors because investors will be able to enjoy above average earnings growth as well as a decent upward re-rating. The large companies on the other hand attract investors because they are willing to put big valuations on large stocks as they're less of a risk. The big companies are also less dependent upon large one off opportunities than smaller companies.

Kim Polese has made it to the top of the corporate ladder in Silicon Valley. Yet the CEO of Marimabe all too often makes headlines because of the way she looks
Article Abstract:
Marimba co-founder Kim Polese has attracted more attention because of her striking appearance than because of her business achievements. GraceNet, the women-in-computing network group, has addressed this issue, claiming that women in computing are not being permitted to be both attractive and a successful executive. Some observers feel that women in computing should capitalize on their appearance, while others feel that they should be allowed to wear exactly what they want.
