Greenslade, Glover and MacArthur - the three undertakers
Article Abstract:
The UK's most influential media commentators are Brian MacArthur of The Times, Roy Greenslade of The Guardian and Stephen Glover of the Daily Mail. MacArthur is the most widely informed of the three. He is also the least vicious, and therefore attracts least attention. Glover is essentially a reviewer, often exaggerating and disliking consistency. His best writing can be seen in the Spectator, rather than the Daily Mail. Greenslade places strong emphasis on press ethics, and likes to expose the tactics used by tabloid newspapers.

Monty - his part in his own downfall
Article Abstract:
David Montgomery, head of Mirror Group Newspapers, faces an uncertain future. He has shown himself unable to grasp basic issues relating to newspaper management, and the City now seems to be losing patience with him. He has gained a reputation for failing to communicate effectively with editors and for emphasizing productivity above everything else. He has made unwise purchases and has succeeded only in destroying the value in Mirror Group Newspapers.
