Hand over the keys and the survey details
Article Abstract:
The UK government has issued proposals under which house vendors, rather than potential purchasers, would pay for searches, surveys and similar pre-sale procedures. It is hoped that this approach will force vendors to play a more responsible role in the buying and selling process. Most observers accept that action needs to be taken to speed up this process, but some have reservations about whether placing more responsibility on the vendor is the best approach. Their concerns include what recourse buyers would have if a serious problem was found in the house.
