Have you done your homework?
Article Abstract:
It is becoming increasingly recognised that there is a clear link between high levels of academic achievement and high levels of homework and after-school activities. Many parents want their children to have a lot of homework, but find it hard to ensure that the homework is completed satisfactorily. It is best if children are encouraged to begin their homework soon after returning home from school. They must have healthy snacks, and should also have physical exercise. Parents should take care not to be too critical, and should not be tempted to give too much help.

Stuck on your chemistry homework? Someone out there wants to help you
Article Abstract:
There are now many homework helplines on the Internet. BBC Education's GCSE Bitesize Revision website has proved particularly popular, and between Apr 1999 and Jun 1999 attracted 10,839,000 page views. Homework helplines are currently mainly used by teenagers and GCSE students, but the age at which children are seeking help on the Internet is falling. Most teachers are happy for their students to obtain online support, but are aware that children must have appropriate search and evaluation skills.
