Having scuppered the inspectors, let's not fail the Iraqi opposition
Article Abstract:
Iraqi President Saddam Hussein greatly fears a Western-backed uprising. For this reason, he is encouraging the Arab states to call for an end to Western intervention in Iraq. He is also seeking to provoke the US and the UK into further air attacks. It is now time for the international community to recognize that attempts to reduce Saddam Hussein's power have been unsuccessful. Efforts must now be made to support the Iraq National Congress. This could bring dangers, but it is vital to ensure that the Iraqi opposition is not failed.

Boy soldiers fail to halt rebel tide
Article Abstract:
The last stronghold of Democratic Republic of Congo President Laurent Kabila in Mbanza Ngungu has reportedly been overrun by opposing Rwandan-backed rebel forces, with Kabila's army seemingly disorganized and unprepared for military combat. Young recruits who volunteered to support Kabila complain of being given no instruction in fighting, while Kabila is also having to rely on the notorious soldiers who previously served former dictator Mobutu Sese Seko. Other former Mobutu supporters have enlisted to fight against Kabila.
