William H Gates III is the richest man in America, worth $6.4 billion or 3.4 billion pounds sterling. Aged 37, Mr Gates is owner of the computer software Microsoft Corporation which employs 8,000. He acquired his MS-DOS system for $50,000 and persuaded IBM to use it on all its computers until it became used throughout the industry. The company developed the Windows program and is progressing into Multimedia.

Presto Studios was responsible for developing Myst III: Exile, the sequel to the extremely popular adventure game Myst and the slightly less popular Riven. Presto ensured that it retained the use of island worlds, and also recognized the importances of allowing the player to be the main character.
