The nightmares ahead
Article Abstract:
The return of ethnic Albanians to Kosovo, Yugoslavia, could have extremely serious repercussions. It is likely that most of the Serbs now living in Kosovo would flee, causing significant problems in Serbia. The loss of the Kosovo conflict could bring about the downfall of Slobodan Milosevic, but the situation in Serbia may become even worse if he is replaced by radical nationalist Vojislav Seselj. It is also important to consider the impact of developments in Kosovo on neighbouring countries such as Albania.

The ghosts of failures past that stop America putting her sons at risk
Article Abstract:
The UK and the US are both anxious to avoid a full-scale invasion of Kosovo, Yugoslavia. Similarly, neither country wishes to abandon the air war. However, some officials in the UK feel that threatening to take more decisive action on the ground would allow the air attacks to be scaled down, thus limiting civilian casualties. This view is not shared by the US, which will not permit its forces to be used in Kosovo except as part of a peace-keeping force.
