Homeopathy: seeing is believing
Article Abstract:
Pharmacists are becoming convinced that homeopathy really works. Bill Nicoletti, president of the American Assn of Homeopathic Pharmacists, recalls that he had been previously skeptical. However, he was able to personally experience homeopathy's effectiveness when he suffered from a smashed elbow. Arnica Montana, a homeopathy product for trauma, eased the pain and reduced the swelling. Ross Pelton has a similar experience when a relative of his came down with a serious case of cat allergy. Once again, homeopathic products proved effective.

Marketers wanted
Article Abstract:
Some pharmacists find it hard to sell quality disease management programs. Pharmacists should look as this task not only as selling what they can do but also as selling themselves as a partner in patient care. Their goal for the task should be to convince physicians to refer their patients to them. Some strategies for the task include presenting oneself as a problem solver, offering physicians help with a problem patient, providing physicians with useful information, and collaborating with pharmaceutical company representatives.

High speed chase
Article Abstract:
National Institutes of Health's proposed Web-based publishing venue for biomedical research papers will be of great benefit to consumers, healthcare professionals and researchers. However, the Web site, which will be called E-biomed, will also undermine the diversity and editorial standards provided by medical publishers. An evaluation of the pros and cons of the NIH proposal suggests that its real value is in pushing medical publishers to develop more speedy, efficient and open processes.
