How a trial turned on a bloody glove
Article Abstract:
Mistakes made by the prosecution in the trial for murder of football player and actor O.J. Simpson made a significant contribution to his being found not guilty. The key element in the trial was the debate surrounding a bloody glove found near the murder scene. The prosecution claimed that the blood on the glove matched that of Simpson, but the defence claimed that the evidence had been planted by the police, eager to secure a conviction. The prosecution argument was weakened by revelations of racist attitudes among some police officers dealing with the case.
