How on earth did I get here?
Article Abstract:
Young women who try to continue to make progress in their career while looking after small children are missing out, according to Rosemary Salisbury, headteacher of King Edward VI school in Retford, England. She was making rapid progress in her teaching career, but decided to stay at home when her first child was born. Her own mother was always there for her, and she wanted the same for her own children. She feels that her extensive experience of supply teaching has been very valuable, giving her great insight into different management systems in schools.

Back to school for mum and dad
Article Abstract:
The UK Labour party has recently sought to increase the involvement of politicians in parenting by suggesting the creation of a voluntary network of parent advice groups and that parents of children who are a nuisance to their community should receive additional training in parenting. The Labour party is certainly more pro-family than the Conservative government, but no politician is really in a position to criticise parents. Indeed, in many was the state is the worst parent of all.

Is the NHS safe under Dr Blair's team?
Article Abstract:
The UK Labour party has no clear policy on the NHS or on health issues as a whole. The party has failed to take political advantage of the current severe funding shortage in the NHS, and seems to lack new ideas on health. The Conservative government is portraying a much more positive attitude to health, and now has a policy which seems competent. This will ensure that it will not be too extensively politically damaged by the current funding crisis.
