How to stop the massacre of innocents
Article Abstract:
It is very common for children to be involved in national or international armed conflict, either as civilians or soldiers. For this reason, it is vital that international law designed to stop children being victims of war is effectively enforced. This did not happen in the case of two Belgian soldiers who dangled a Somalian boy over a camp fire but were acquitted by a court martial of any wrong-doing. Even partially enforcing international law will make some contribution to protecting children.

Save the innocents
Article Abstract:
Child labour affects around 200 million children around the world in some form, according to Kailash Satyarthi, founder of the South Asian Coalition on Child Servitude. He was born into a favoured caste, but became concerned about child labour at a very early age. He rejected the caste system while at university, and later became a campaigning journalist. He has exposed himself to great personal danger through his campaigning work, and has a permanent armed guard from the Indian government.

Survivors tell of massacre following fall of Srebrenica
Article Abstract:
There are reports that Serb troops who capture the Bosnian enclave of Srebrenica in Jul 1995 subsequently killed up to 3,000 Muslim men, despite having promised that the prisoners would be exchanged. This information forms a key part of the evidence which is now emerging about Serb atrocities after the fall of Srebrenica. According to the Red Cross, 8,000 of the 42,000 people who were in Srebrenica before it was overrun by the Serbs are still unaccounted for.
