'I come out of deep hippie stuff.' (New York artist Kiki Smith) (Interview)
Article Abstract:
New York artist Kiki Smith believes that any work of art is a physical model, with art making her rather than her making art. She began working in the early days of punk, but her art now embraces many different issues. In recent years, she has focused on constructing the visual counterparts to stories, making meaningful the narratives that form people's political realities. She gains a lot of inspiration from other works of art she sees and from her dreams.

Hot stuff from Dorset
Article Abstract:
Michael and Joy Michaud grow a range of varieties of chilli peppers at their market garden in Dorset, England. These are sent by mail order to destinations across the UK, mainly specialist shops and restaurants. Recipes for classic chilli dishes are included with each dispatch of peppers. The peppers are grown organically in a system which includes the use of natural predators. Seeds are sown in Dec or Jan, with fruiting beginning in Jun or Jul.
