I used to run a restaurant
Article Abstract:
Richard Savin, 53, was made redundant from his job as a magazine editor and he subsequently attended a pottery and ceramics course that started him off as a sculptor. Previously a restaurateur, he has sold many works of sculpture, is exhibiting in Guildford, UK, and has even bought a kiln. He failed on the potter's wheel but was inspired by the modelling of sea shells. Much of his work incorporates war, meaning that gas masks, guns and soldiers are major subjects. Much of the background detail was learned from his father and grandfather.

A different class of bond
Article Abstract:
Artist Tracey Emin has recently made a limited issue of 150 bonds, which take the form of a five-minute videotape showing her and her father in the sea off Cyprus. Her artwork has attracted considerable interest, and those who purchased her first bond, issued in 1993, have already seen their asset increase considerably in value. Many investors are people who wish to support her work, but they also seem to be making an astute move financially.
