IT bounty-hunters go in search of a bonus
Article Abstract:
The UK is experiencing a severe shortage of people with appropriate information technology (IT) skills. This situation is forcing some companies to resort to innovative ways of attracting IT staff. One approach is to encourage existing employees to recruit friends and former colleagues. Staff who do manage to introduce a recruit are rewarded with a bonus of as much as 2,000 pounds sterling. This can be more successful than using a recruitment agency, but can create problems if employees focus simply on the financial rewards.

It is not easy looking after number one
Article Abstract:
Tackling apparently impossible challenges can be very rewarding, according to Francesmary Kay, who runs a freelance administrator team working for a number of different employers on a one-to-one basis. She welcomes being stretched, but sometimes finds that employers can be far too demanding. She believes that successful personal assistants must be quite confident and able to avoid panicking. She warns against making the working relationship too informal.
