If doctors can be struck off, why not newspaper editors?
Article Abstract:
National newspapers in the UK have taken steps to introduce a stricter code of practice to protect the privacy of individuals. However, this may prove ineffective in practice because no mechanism has been established for the enforcement of this code. Self-regulation may seem to be the ideal solution, but it will not be effective if there is no punishment for those who contravene it. The best way to approach this problem is through editors, who must come to realize that they could lose their job if they constantly go against the spirit of the new code of practice.

The man who abolished madness
Article Abstract:
The anti-psychiatry movement has its origins in, among other sources, the work of Scottish psychotherapist R.D. Laing, a leading figure in the 1960s. He believed that psychiatry is mainly concerned with keeping the mentally ill away from the rest of society, rather than helping them to find a cure. He had extensive experience of procedures in mental hospitals, and believed that these could often have very negative results. He felt that schizophrenics could only be helped through patient care and understanding.
