Article Abstract:
Many British people are appalled by the very high levels of compensation awarded by US courts for apparently relatively trivial cases of injury or damage. Even in the US, moves are being made to limit punitive damages in civil lawsuits and 'pain and suffering' settlements in medical malpractice suits. Article Abstract:

However, some observers believe that the creation of larger, more powerful pharmaceutical companies could have negative impact on patient choice.
