If you've got it, flaut it
Article Abstract:
Emmanuel Pahud, principal flautist with the Berlin Philharmonic, is occupying a position which was once held by James Galway. Pahud could become one of the best flautists ever, according to Galway, whose music has developed great popular appeal. Pahud, like Galway, is very attractive to the media, and holds similar views to Galway about crossover work. He is considering putting together a recording which unites the flute traditions of Africa, Japan, India and South America.

Article Abstract:

He is very popular in the US and Europe, and has gained a reputation for excitingly extreme work. He has always been prepared to take risk, and this can sometimes mean that performers on the stage are in danger of having accidents.
