The trouble with the British Library
Article Abstract:
The British Library, which is due for completion in 1997, has already been under construction for 25 years, and has therefore attracted a wide range of views as the project has developed. There have been many changes in the surrounding area, and technology has also advanced so fast that a very large library building of this kind could almost be said to be obsolete. However, the interior is extremely attractive, and the building will certainly have a very important symbolic role.

Welcome to the pressure dome
Article Abstract:
The River Thames should be used much more extensively to the benefit of London, England, according to architect Richard Rogers. He has attracted considerably controversy recently with a plan to construct a 700 million pounds sterling millennium dome on the Greenwich peninsula in east London. He believes that this development will help to make the Thames an integral part of London once more, forming one of a series of urban nodes along the river.
