Highly trained speicialists with potential should be identified and individuals' career paths should be predicted. People with the knack of getting business and those who can move from one area of business to another are valuable. The report recommends giving talented people a sense of mission. A flexible organisational structure can channel creative talent.

It is becoming clear that many companies do not really have much understanding of what they need to do to create shareholder value, even though they often strongly emphasize this philosophy. The most challenging issue is deciding the best approach to creating shareholder value.
