In the end, it was odd man out
Article Abstract:
Ross Perot abandoned his interest in the presidency without declaring himself a presidential candidate when his support dropped to equal his opponents in June 1992. He ignored advice to introduce specific plans and lacked political skills of patience and compromise. Political strategists, Mr Rollins and Hamilton Jordan recommended normal political methods which conflicted with his grassroots approach. He has affected the Democrats and Republicans as his campaign demonstrated that the country wants change.

A tortured Dole plods well-worn primary path
Article Abstract:
Senator Bob Dole has extensive political experience, but must still expend vast amounts of money and energy if he is to secure the Republican party's presidential nomination. He is now making his fourth bid for the presidency, but still finds campaigning very difficult. He is not talented at public speaking, and is subject to great stress at present. He is also aware that he may not after all secure the presidential nomination.

Bob Dole begins to lose aura of invincibility
Article Abstract:
Bob Dole is already experiencing difficulties in his bid to become the next US president. He has had to make concessions to right-wing activists, and straw polls in advance of state primaries have not shown him in a favourable light. He is facing strong competition from fellow Republican candidates, and his age counts against him.
