Into the future, the Italian way
Article Abstract:
The Estorick Collection in London, England, is the first public gallery in the UK to focus on modern Italian art. The collection was assembled by American Eric Estorick, who had a Russian-Jewish background, at a time when Italian art could still be purchased relatively inexpensively. There are a total of six galleries at the Estorick Collection, with the most important paintings being contained in the first two galleries. The first is devoted to Futurists, while the second includes Carra's 'Leaving the Theatre' and Boccioni's 'Modern Idol.'

An intellectual in Paris
Article Abstract:
There has always been much more respect for intellectuals in France than in the UK. The views of intellectuals are keenly sought on a wide range of issues in France, and publishers produce a large amount of serious literary fiction. It is possible to still sense the presence of intellectuals such as Sartre and Voltaire in the places in Paris, France, that they often frequented. In contrast, most Britons, adopting a more pragmatic view, are disparaging about intellectuals.

Chapter v Verse
Article Abstract:
Many novelists see poetry as a great art which refines the language and has much more spiritual and emotional value that the novel. However, others believe that novelists are too easily intimidated by the notion that poetry has such great value. In fact, many poets actually envy novelists, believing that a vast array of knowledge is required in order to write a good novel. In the eyes of the general public, novels are much more popular than poems.
