Running a national television advertising campaign in the UK for treatments for thrush, which are now available without a prescription, proved a rather difficult task for the advertising agencies concerned. Euro RSCG Healthcare, which specialises in marketing health products, has developed an advertisement for Canesten Combi, the market leader, which features a women's magazine 'editor.' The advertisement for Diflucan One takes a rather different approach, featuring two working girls.

Many leading perfume manufacturers have traditionally advertised in glossy women's magazines. However, they now feel that this medium is being over-exposed, and are seeking alternative methods of advertising. This trend is also being fuelled by the growing cost of running perfume advertisements in glossy magazines, with a scent-strip advertisement costing as much as 39,000 pounds sterling. Article Abstract:

Christian radio station Premier, which was launched in Jun 1995, has been experiencing many difficulties. Its audience levels have been disappointingly low, and it has had to make extensive redundancies. Managing director David Heron believes that the concept of a dedicated Christian radio station is still a viable one, but admits that audience numbers will have to rise to at least 250,000, compared with the current 109,000 weekly.
