Journalist Jeffrey Bernard wrote many columns for Spectator magazine, where he began working in 1976. He became very familiar with life in Soho, London, England, and conveyed the atmosphere of this area very humorously. He drank heavily from an early age, and developed a number of serious health problems. However, he continued to live life to the full, and married four times. He was invited by publishers to write an autobiography, but never did so.

Bernard Wheeler Robinson
Article Abstract:
Physicist Bernard Wheeler Robinson studied at Trinity College, Cambridge, England, and went on to work under Sir William Bragg on X-ray crystallography. After the second world war, he designed medical equipment for the Medical Research Council, and later became Superintendent of the Applied Physics Division of the National Physical Laboratory. He was strongly committed to amateur music-making, and founded the Music Camp movement.

Bernard Venables
Article Abstract:
Fisherman, artist, writer and environmentalist Bernard Venables was born in London, England, in 1907. He began angling at Romney Marsh as a child. He studied at Croydon School of Art between 1923 and 1926, and later entered a commercial art studio.
