Business angels can be very useful for a small company that cannot obtain any further bank funding but is too small to attract venture capitalists. However, it can often be difficult to find a business angel, especially as most of them are keen to protect their privacy. Research indicates that around 60% of business angels are found through family and friends, even though the British Venture Capital Association believes that around 5,600 business angels are registered with a range of networking groups.
