Article Abstract:
Guitarist John Byrne, known as Johnny Guitar, formed a skiffle group with Rory Storm in 1957. This group became Rory Storm and the Hurricanes, and performed in Liverpool, England, before appearing in Hamburg, Germany, with the Beatles in 1960. The group never really recovered from losing drummer Ringo Starr to the Beatles, and disbanded in 1967. Guitar subsequently joined the ambulance service.

Chet Atkins
Article Abstract:
Guitarist and record producer Chet Atkins was born in Luttrell, TN, in 1924. He was playing the violin professionally by the age of 18 and made his recording debut in 1944. He moved to the guitar when he joined the band of Red Foley in 1946.

Songwriter Kal Mann was born in Philadelphia, PA, in 1917. He began his career supplying songs for comedians Danny Thomas, Jimmy Durante and Red Buttons. He joined Bernie Lowe in the creation of Cameo Records in 1956.
