Where are the volunteers?
Article Abstract:
UK charity Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO) is currently facing a severe shortage of volunteers with the most badly needed skills. The organization particularly needs to recruit professionals in mid-career who can offer skills which cannot be found in the countries in which VSO operates. They must be able to work closely with local non-governmental organizations to ensure that the processes they instigate during their relatively short time in that country are continued after they leave.
