Karma chameleon
Article Abstract:
Young Indians should be very wary of imitating western culture, according to author Gita Mehta. She fears that India is the last truly bio-diverse country and that it should avoid becoming homogenous at all costs. She is able to both make fun of certain aspects of Indian culture and highlight its most positive aspects, reflecting the contradictions in her own upbringing. She now has a very cosmopolitan outlook, and is friendly with some very prominent authors.

The liberation of Lolita
Article Abstract:
Author Emily Prager regards China as being her motherland in a certain way. She spent three years in Taiwan as a child, and now has a Chinese daughter. There are many Chinese elements in her new work, 'Roger Fishbite.' She attempts in this novel to show that children are sexual beings, but was not attempting to titillate. She is more attracted to ideas and paradoxes than to the pleasure of the text, and her work is strongly autobiographical.
