Leo Jaffe

Film executive Leo Jaffe first became involved in the film industry in 1930, when he took a summer job at Columbia Pictures while studying business studies at New York University. He accepted a permanent position there, and completed his formal education at night. He eventually became executive vice-president of Columbia in 1962, and was chairman of the company's board from 1973 to 1981. Following his departure from Columbia, he became chairman of the US Information Agency until 1988.

Michael Samuelson
Article Abstract:
Film producer and director Michael Samuelson found work assisting the assistant stage manager of the Worthing Repertory Company after National Service in the Royal Air Force. He eventually moved to the film industry as a unit manager, and then joined Movietone as a cameraman. He joined his brother Sydney in the family television company in 1960, and began to gain a strong reputation for his professionalism and craftsmanship.

Dawn Steel
Article Abstract:
Film producer Dawn Steel had a difficult childhood, and she had to work her way through both Boston and New York Universities. She never completed her education, and began full-time employment in 1968. She worked initially at Stadia Publishing, and was then a merchandiser at Penthouse magazine. She made a very rapid switch to Hollywood, and by 1983 had become Senior Vice-President, Production, at Paramount.
