Article Abstract:
Film director Mike Leigh feels that there is not a smooth progression between each of his films. Indeed, the concept of what a Mike Leigh film actually is has changed considerably since the early 1990s. He works extremely hard to ensure that the actors for each film get to know their character thoroughly. For his most recent film, 'Career Girls,' actor Andy Serkis spent three months working as a futures trader, and this allowed him to give an extremely well crafted comic performance.

Article Abstract:
It can be hard to obtain funding for a feature film which seems to be rather unusual, according to director Marc Evans. He had already gained a strong reputation for his television work, but encountered obstacles as he sought funding for 'House of America,' his first feature film. This is based on a play by Edward Thomas, and is set in Wales. Evans' second film, 'Resurrection Man,' which is to be released shortly, is set in Belfast, Northern Ireland, in the 1970s.
