Linda McCartney
Article Abstract:
Photographer, musician and campaigner Linda McCartney came from a wealthy East Coast family. She studied art history at the University of Arizona, and following her divorce from John Melvyn See, with whom she had a daughter in 1963, began to develop her hobby of photography into a career. She married Paul McCartney in 1969, and sang backing vocals and played keyboards on several albums produced by his group 'Wings.' After this group broke up in 1979, she focused on artistic and business activities.

Valerie Lloyd
Article Abstract:
Photographer, historian, curator and patron of the arts Valerie Lloyd studied at Camberwell College of Arts and Goldsmiths' College, London, England. She then spent some time at the Slade film school and subsequently studied for an MA in the history of photography at the University of New Mexico. She was a lecturer at Coventry School of Art between 1969 and 1971, and then worked in the film department at the National Portrait Gallery. She became curator of the Royal Photographic Society in 1978.

Janet Stone
Article Abstract:
Photographer Janet Stone trained briefly as an opera singer early in her marriage, but soon began to devote her attention to nurturing talented artists. She was very enthusiastic about making new acquaintances, and took a strong interest in the many young people who came to stay with her. She mainly took black-and-white photographs, and her work shows the signs of many hours of intense observation.
