Roy Rogers
Article Abstract:
Actor, singer and producer Leonard Slye, known as Roy Rogers, was an itinerant labourer and fruit picker before his band 'The Sons of the Pioneers' had a hit record with 'The Last Round-up.' This led to work in radio and bit parts in films, beginning in 1935 with 'The Old Homestead.' He went on to appear in many more films, some with his third wife Dale Evans. He and Evans boosted their income with records and radio work.
