Listen to the preacherman
Article Abstract:
The mass broadcast media should always stick to high moral standards, ensuring that all programmes are suitable to be watched by families, according to Bruce Gyngell, managing director of Yorkshire/Tyne Tees. He has gained praise from the National Viewers and Listeners' Association by dropping programmes which may cause offence, and has spoken out strongly against programmes which show violence, negative behaviour and extremes of sexuality. Some observers feel that he is very talented at aligning his activities with the views of the general public.

Pulling them in off the street
Article Abstract:
Making a person into a work of art does not necessarily exploit that person, according to Roger Powell, who used to be homeless and is now an 'exhibit' at the Tate Gallery. He was placed there as a result of work by artist Tony Kaye, who has been associated with a number of high-profile advertisements. He feels that his work is helping people who are still homeless, and hopes that eventually some of the large sums of money which are put into arts sponsorship will go to the homeless instead.
