Little savings can mean a lot
Article Abstract:
Those suffering financial difficulties should focus on paying off any overdraft, as this will make a considerable sum of additional income available. They should look closely at their expenditure to establish where money can be saved, thus making available money to pay off their debts. It is worth trying to make regular savings by standing order. Once a savings account has been built up, it is possible to consider starting a pension.

Dodging a pension trap
Article Abstract:
Those considering starting a pension must focus on building up as large a fund as possible. Their ability to do this will depend on performance and charges. The best way to reduce charges is to eliminate the commission element paid to a financial adviser, which accounts for up to half of all costs in a product's lifetime. It may be possible to persuade a financial adviser to take a cut in commission levels or to work on a fee basis.
