Major faces 100 accusations over arms-to-Iraq affair

The Conservative party claims that the report by Sir Richard Scott into the arms-to-Iraq affair absolves it of any blame. However, the report makes more than 100 criticisms of government ministers and senior officials, and will be the subject of fierce debate in parliament. Ministers are now under great pressure to ensure that Conservative MPs do not vote against the government when the vote on the report in taken.

Moores to wrest control from Littlewoods bosses
Article Abstract:
The senior executives of mail order, football pools and stores concern Littlewoods may see operational control of the company pass into the hands of the Moores family, which already owns all shares in the concern. It is understood that the position of group chief executive will be given to James Suenson-Taylor, a member of the Moores family, and that the position of chief executive Barry Dale could be in doubt.
