Modern plague ravages urban Eskimo
Article Abstract:
Research indicates that there is a significant danger of a full-scale HIV epidemic in Greenland. More than 80 cases have already been confirmed among Inuits, who number only 50,000, and it is thought that many more cases have remained unrecorded. The spread of HIV in Greenland is 25 per 100,000, three times faster than in Europe. The HIV virus is also developing more rapidly into full-blown Aids in Greenland than in Europe. Transmission of HIV infection in Greenland is almost exclusively heterosexual.

NETHERLANDS: FEAR OVER DIABETES CHILD GROWTH
Article Abstract:
Research to be published in The Lancet suggests that children allowed to eat as much as they like during the first three years of life are more susceptible to developing diabetes. Children that were taller and weighed more than their counterparts were found to be at the greatest risk. The secretion of insulin is related to food intake and rapid growth, with the rise of diabetes cases in wealthier children attributed to a wealth of food.
