Murdered in cold blood: the editor whose sin was to criticise Milosevic
Article Abstract:
It remains uncertain who was responsible for the murder of Slavko Curuvija, editor of the newspaper Dnevni Telegraf. The few remaining Serb journalists who are seeking to retain a free press in Belgrade, Yugoslavia, point out that Curuvija had been critical of many of the supporters of Vojislav Seselj's Serbian Radical Party. He had stated in his newspaper that President Slobodan Milosevic should sever links with Seselj and other nationalist ministers in the Serbian government.

Pristina's reporters in a no-chance saloon
Article Abstract:
Koha Ditore, the ethnic Albanian newspaper published in Pristina, Yugoslavia, aims to impart information, rather than openly promoting the cause of the ethnic Albanians of Kosovo, Yugoslavia, against the Serbs. It does not seek exclusives or scoops, but does attempt to give a voice to the Albanian political opposition. Its journalists are working under great pressure, and some have been targeted by the Serb army and police.
