Do not underestimate the power of Sony
Article Abstract:
Sony Corp has become an international conglomerate covering not only electronics and hi-fi equipment, but also areas such as computers and the Internet. Its financial performance is very strong, but it has announced wide-reaching restructuring that will significantly reduce its workforce in the period to 2002. Its success so far has been rather haphazard, with some products proving very popular and others failing. However, it now aims to become more focused, and is particularly looking to rival Microsoft in the consumer sector.
