Mystery of man's walk on the wild side
Article Abstract:
Robert Bogucki from the US has been rescued from the Great Sandy Desert in Western Australia, where he was found starving and dehydrated. The search for Bogucki had lasted a month and there is speculation that he could have sought to hide from his rescuers to see if he could survive. There is also speculation that a publishing deal could have influenced his behavior. The police argue that he disobeyed a number of rules that tourists are asked to resepcts, such as taking sufficient water for the whole journey, and keeping close to marked roads.

Rod Ansell
Article Abstract:
Buffalo farmer and bushman Rod Ansell travelled to the Northern Territory, Australia, from Queensland, Australia, to work as a buffalo-catcher at the age of 15. He came to public attention in 1977, when he lived off the land for two months after his boat was overturned by a crocodile on the remote Fitzmaurice River. This experience formed the basis for the 'Crocodile Dundee' film. The myth surrounding his life faded after a short time, and he became bitter about having been exploited.
