Mystery stabbing of heir to the house of Dunhill

Three men are said to have carried out the stabbing attack which has left Christopher Dunhill, the oldest son of Alfred Dunhill Chmn Richard Dunhill, in a serious but stable condition in hospital in London, England. Dunhill once led a very flamboyant life and was involved in a number of business ventures. However, in recent years he has experienced hard times, particularly as a result of his involvement with drug-taking. It remains uncertain whether he was the victim of a planned attack, but police are treating the incident as attempted murder.

There has been growing tension in Dover, England, between local residents and asylum-seekers. A recent outbreak of violence in the town has prompted the government to draw up plans to relocate 500 of the 700 asylum-seekers currently living there. Local people state that they feel threatened by the asylum-seekers, while the asylum-seekers claim that they have been exposed to racist attitudes. Police in Dover are now stopping and searching teenagers and young men.

Police on trail of runaway foster family

It is believed that Jeff and Jenny Bramley, who disappeared with their foster daughters Jade and Hannah Bennett from their home in Ramsey, England, in Sep 1998, are now in North Yorkshire, England. They are thought to have travelled on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway on Jan 2, 1999, and police are now making door-to-door inquiries in the area. The family's car was found abandoned close to the railway station in York, England, on Dec 30, 1998.
