Nato admits safety for pilots makes 'mistakes' inevitable
Article Abstract:
Military sources acknowledge that Nato's decision to order its pilots to fly at high altitude to avoid Serb air defences will inevitably bring mistakes in identifying targets. This problem has been highlighted by the bomb attack on the road leading from the town of Pec, Kosovo, Yugoslavia, into neighbouring Montenegro, in which a bus was hit and at least 10 people killed. It is believed that the target was a nearby police and army checkpoint.
