Nato attack on train kills ten
Article Abstract:
The Yugoslav government has denounced a Nato air attack on a passenger train in southern Serbia in which at least 10 people were killed. Nato has expressed regret about the civilian casualties, but has stated that its bombing attacks on Yugoslav targets will continue. The scope of Nato attacks has been considerably widened, and this means that large numbers of Serb civilian deaths have become unavoidable. Nato emphasizes that its attacks are justified because Serb treatment of ethnic Albanians in Kosovo, Yugoslavia, represents an attack on democracy and human rights.

Into a peasant village, falls a hi-tech enemy
Article Abstract:
There has been extensive media coverage in Yugoslavia of the fact that an F-117A Stealth Nighthawk fighter-bomber crashed close to the village of Budjanovci, Yugoslavia. Local people have cut off parts of the plane and have taken photographs for posterity. The plane was either caught by a Serb MiG above the village, or was hit by anti-aircraft fire as it turned. It appears that the pilot was quickly rescued, possibly by US forces just across the border in Bosnia.

'A factory blitzed and our livelihood gone.'
Article Abstract:
A Nato air attack with 12 Tomahawk missiles has destroyed the Sloboda co-operative factory in Cacak, Serbia. The factory, which produced consumer goods such as vacuum cleaners, employed 5,000 people. Its destruction will therefore have a significant impact on this small town. At the Zastava car factory in Kragujevac, Serbia, many workers have been sleeping in the production sheds in order to protect the factory from Nato bombardment.
