Should you invest in ... the financial sector?
Article Abstract:
The main types of company in the UK financial services sector are trade finance houses, stockbrokers, companies offering other forms of financial advice or service and fund management companies. Investors have been giving particular attention to fund management companies, which are set to be the main beneficiaries in the retail market from the introduction of Individual Savings Accounts. Acquisitive stockbrokers may also have a positive future, but it is very hard to identify general trends in the financial services sector.

Should you invest in...football clubs?
Article Abstract:
The performance of football club shares has traditionally been strongly determined by developments on the field. However, some observers believe that this is no longer the case, with broadcasting rights to football matches now becoming a very significant factor. Investors must focus on a club's financial merits, rather than allowing themselves to become emotionally involved. It is also important to be aware that sporting success still has a direct impact on financial success.
