Nature's way of tackling the menopause
Article Abstract:
A growing number of British women are choosing to treat menopausal symptoms with natural diets and remedies, rather than hormone replacement therapy (HRT). It is acknowledged that HRT is very effective at relieving menopausal symptoms, but there are also concerns about its possible side-effects. Those who support alternatives to HRT claim that many women do not require the high levels of hormones in HRT. Alternatives, which include soya and soya supplements, are based on plants and compounds containing natural hormones.

Are schizophrenics the lepers of our time?
Article Abstract:
Schizophrenics are regarded very negatively in the UK. They are characterized as hostile, violent and unpredictable, and are often discriminated against. In fact, most schizophrenics are not violent, and most are able to keep their symptoms under control with anti-psychotic medication or major tranquillizers, along with psycho-social counselling. Most schizophrenics find it hard to understand why their illness should attract such hostility.

Heath Robinson, eat your heart out
Article Abstract:
There are now many amateur inventors in the UK. They are determined to find solutions to common difficulties, and are not deterred by lack of interest from commercial organisations. They do not feel that latest computer technology replaces the need for their work. They are often portrayed as rather eccentric, but in fact have been responsible for a number of highly successful commercial products.
