The frozen potato products market has seen various new products over the last two years. These include the emergence of organic frozen vegetables in response to growing consumers' demand. Aside from an ever-growing variety of prepared vegetables and seasonal lines, the introduction of such added-value products as coated and shaped vegetables and vegetables in sauce and oriental/ethnic/pasta/rice/vegetable mixes continue to characterize the market. There are also products targeting children and families, such as Chocolate Flavored Carrots and Pizza Flavored Sweetcorn from G W Padley.

The green vegetables market relied on such growth sectors as peas (an increase of 11%), natural vegetable mixes (25%), broad beans (29%), and prepared vegetables (115%) between 1994 and 1998. The prepared vegetables sector, comprised of rice/pasta/vegetable mixes, is the most dynamic, contributing 27.8 million pounds sterling in 1994 and 59.8 million pounds sterling in 1998. Peas have accounted for 39% of sector value in 1998 by achieving an 11% growth between 1994 and 1998 to record 160.1 million pounds sterling.
