News Corp knocks at Continent's closed door
Article Abstract:
Rupert Murdoch's News Corp has established a strong presence in the UK, but has so far been unable to repeat this success in continental Europe. Media experts indicate that this is because Murdoch is feared in continental Europe, where his extremely centralized business style is viewed negatively. Furthermore, he is unwilling to share control. This attitude also makes it difficult to attract and retain top executives who could help News Corp establish a continental European presence.
