Night of the long envelopes
Article Abstract:
Jonathan Fenby became editor of Hong Kong's 'South China Morning Post' at a very difficult time, as within days of his arrival there, 10% of the staff were made redundant. The paper was in fact very profitable, being the largest-selling English-language newspaper in Hong Kong. However, managers were concerned that the rate of profit growth had slowed down, and cost cutting was also necessary because of the sharp rise in newsprint prices.

Wu do you think you are kidding?
Article Abstract:

Crazy talk about property prices back to normal
Article Abstract:
Hong Kong property prices have fallen slightly recently, although they are still extremely high. Some observers feel that a serious supply shortage will push prices back up again, with these vastly inflated levels coming to be seen as 'normal.' High prices have already forced many companies to seek office accomodation elsewhere.
