On education, Blair means business
Article Abstract:
UK Labour party leader Tony Blair has recently spoken of the key role of education in social progress. He has expressed a firm commitment to improving the country's education system, even though he would not raise taxes to do so. Additional funding for education would have to come from other sources, especially social security reform. Education reform would only be truly successful if a way were found of making more ordinary people feel that they have an interest in better public education.
