One flew out of the cuckoo's nest
Article Abstract:
Jimmy Laing, 65, received the Mind Book Of The Year Award 1993 for his book 'Fifty Years in the System' describing his life in Scottish mental institutions. No-one properly assessed him, but his parents placed him in care when he was nine because he was a hyperactive child with six brothers and sisters. He escaped several times, but always returned as he could not feel free until it was made official. He endured mental and physical cruelty and was encouraged to accept his fate until he was released in 1987.

It is not possible to run any attractions outside, because of the unpredictable weather, but there are still many nightclubs, bars and restaurants to visit. The resort has a large beach, but it is only used in the winter by people with metal detectors.
